Vilnius for Kids

When the city of Vilnius prepared to become the European Green Capital 2025, they wanted a way to inspire the youngest generation to explore their city. Mapa Mundi was invited to design a unique illustrated children’s tourism kit.

🎒 The Mission

To create an engaging set of 15 double-sided A5 activity cards for children ages 6–10. Each card invites kids to discover Vilnius through games, puzzles, coloring, and fun eco-challenges—turning the city into an interactive classroom without walls.

🌿 The Concept

Instead of a simple coloring book, we designed a true discovery experience. Guided by the city’s official mascot, children uncover:

• Secret gardens and hidden paths

• Urban wildlife and local forests

• Sustainable mobility and clean rivers

• Recycling and eco-conscious living

The cards combine playful illustration, storytelling, and education, helping kids connect with the city while building awareness of Vilnius as a Green Capital of Europe.

The result was more than a set of activity cards—it became a memorable tourism experience for families and a tool for the city to promote its eco-conscious identity. Each card revealed a new piece of Vilnius, planting the seed of environmental awareness in the next generation of young explorers.
